I’ll be turning 2-0 the next hour! (Technically not, due to the 3 hr time difference and the time I was born)

Life up to 19 has definitely been good so far, but the biggest change happened at 19. Moving to Australia for university is the most drastic change that has ever happened to me, and I am loving almost every moment of it (I’m wishing for a car in Australia this birthday… I know that I won’t get it. :( )!

But this will be the first year I will be celebrating my birthday without my family. :(

I’m getting older! (Hopefully they don’t make me a minor again by raising the alcohol consumption legal age. =S)

Φιλεώ Eλληνικός

It’s the second week of uni already (and this is the first time I’m really updating in a while)! I’m taking 3 extra credits this session and it feels like I don’t have have much time for myself. Yes, that equates to 27 credits this time, 26 hours per week. And guess what, I’m taking a Greek class… and I’m loving it! :D :D :D We are currently doing the Book of John, which was written in Κοινὴ Ἑλληνική (Koine Greek). Taking this course is making me miss Greece! Ah, the ruins of Olympia and Delphi, the Acropolis of Athens, the ruins of Troy, etc.. I want to go back! Miss travelling and reading reading history…

Back in Sydney
I had the opportunity to fly on Singapore Airline’s Airbus A380 the trip back to Sydney. The baggage carousel for the A380 at Kingsford Smith International was pretty similar to the other carousels The flight I took had a 555-person configuration. And yes, do imagine 555 people claiming their luggage at the SAME TIME!

A MAYHEM!

ACU first university in nation to provide iPhone or iPod touch to all incoming freshmen

An Apple iPhone or iPod touch will become a central part of Abilene Christian University’s innovative learning experience this fall when all freshmen are provided one of these converged media devices, said Phil Schubert, ACU executive vice president.

At ACU - the first university in the nation to provide these cutting-edge media devices to its incoming class - freshmen will use an iPhone or iPod touch to receive homework alerts, answer in-class surveys and quizzes, get directions to their professors’ offices, and check their meal and account balances - among more than 15 other useful web applications already developed, said ACU Chief Information Officer Kevin Roberts. ACU’s vision for technology has been captured in a forward-looking film called ‘Connected,’ found online - along with information about ACU’s other ground-breaking mobile learning
efforts - at www.acu.edu/connected.
